My Dream Trip to Cartagena

A personal plan & travel ideas for a future visit

Cartagena is one of the most beautiful cities in Colombia and I really want to visit it soon. This post collects my ideas, places I want to see and the activities I would like to try.

My Travel Plan

I have not visited Cartagena yet, but I would like to go there on my next vacation. I plan to travel with my family and walk around the Walled City, check out the colorful streets and enjoy the sea breeze. I think it will be amazing because every day I could discover new food and beautiful views.

Where I Want to Go

I want to walk inside the Walled City to enjoy the colonial houses and colorful streets. I must climb to Castillo San Felipe to see the amazing view of the sea. If I go to Bocagrande, I might relax on the beach and take pictures of the sunset. I also want to check out small cafés and artisan shops.

What I Would Like to Do

I would like to take a sunset walk along the ancient walls. I must try typical food like arepas de huevo and ceviche. I could take a boat trip to the Rosario Islands for a day of clear water and white sand. If I visit during the summer, I will enjoy music festivals in the main squares.

Travel Tips

You must wear light clothes and sunscreen because the sun is very strong.
You have to bring a hat and drink water all day.
You should book your hotel early because Cartagena is very popular.
You don’t have to rent a car; you can walk or take taxis to see most places.
